Job Description & Person Specification:

Brighton Open Air Theatre (BOAT) is a beautiful, purpose built outdoor performance space that has grown over its first five seasons to become a hugely popular and valued addition to the regional arts scene.

The General Manager is a senior, part-time position, responsible for the planning, development and administration of all things BOAT. We are looking for someone who is a creative thinker, dynamic, self- motivated and able to spin several plates at once.
  • You’ll be comfortable managing your own time and prioritising a busy to do list with a healthy sense of fun and composure.
  • You will have ideally worked in a similar role and therefore understand the nature, and needs, of a growing outdoor arts organisation and have the skills and drive to take us to the next level.
  • You will have an exceptional eye for detail to be able to effectively and responsively oversee the day-to-day operation of BOAT - leading on finance, personnel and event management, programming, communications, fundraising and development.

The General Manager is supported by a seasonal operations manager and a marketing freelancer and reports to the BOAT Trustees.

£25,000 all inclusive.
This is fixed term, part-time, freelance position.

Application Deadline: Monday 2 December 5pm
Interviews: Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December in Brighton
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted Wednesday 4 December
