Job Description & Person Specification:

This is a great opportunity to join the friendly Komedia team and work in the exciting atmosphere of an award winning comedy and live entertainment venue. 

This unique and exciting role offers a combination of event management, live sound and lighting in the Studio Venue, Komedia’s most intimate performance space. 

The Role:
This is a part-time shift base role starting with approximately 2 shifts per week, extra hours could be available once the successful candidate is fully up to speed the venue's operation. The Event Supervisor is responsible for delivering events in the Komedia studio. This includes managing the events and the staff on duty, looking after the performers, liaising with promoters and running the technical elements of the show. The Event Supervisor also assists the bar staff, manages the cash and completes the event show reports. Extensive training is provided as its unlikely candidates will have all the experience needed, but some relevant experience is essential. 

Desirable experience: 
  • Stage technician with experience of sound or lighting for events (basic knowledge is essential as a minimum) 
  • Event/Bar Management experience 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Front of House experience 
  • A good knowledge of the live comedy and music circuit Bar experience 
  • A committed, organised and calm disposition 
  • Ability to cope with a challenge 

Pay rate £10-£12.50 per hour (Dependant on Experience) – After a period of training the amount of hours available will be negotiable. – Other perks include: sick pay, holiday pay, employer pension contributions, complimentary tickets to shows and more.
