Job Description & Person Specification:

CHIEF EXECUTIVE Art Asia, Southampton.

Art Asia, an Arts Council England NPO (national portfolio organisation), is looking for a dynamic Chief Executive to shape the organisation at an exciting time not only for the company but also for the city of Southampton.

This demanding and rewarding role is built on a successful 37 year history and as the new Chief Executive you will bring your experience, creativity and vibrancy to strategically lead the organisation. Art Asia has been awarded a further 4 years of NPO funding (2018-2022) to support its business plan and high quality artistic programme which includes, the Southampton Mela Festival, concerts, new commissions and an outreach and education programme.

As the Chief Executive you will oversee the management of the organisation and motivate and inspire others with Art Asia’s mission ‘to communicate the rich and exciting experience of South Asian Arts to the widest possible audience’.

Southampton is building its reputation as a cultural city, activity seeking collaborations, partnerships and opportunities to showcase and connect the City’s diverse arts and culture offer. Art Asia is very much rooted in Southampton’s cultural vision and the Chief Executive will bring strong interpersonal and entrepreneurial skills to seek and pursue new opportunities and partnerships including new funding streams.

As the Chief Executive you will have a proven track record of relevant experience in arts management, fundraising experience and strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, inspire, motivate, develop and support others.

Salary range: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum.

This is a Full-time position working out of the Southampton Office. Benefits include 25 days’ paid annual leave (rising to 28 days after 5 years’ continuous service) and designated bank holidays and contributory membership of the NEST pension scheme. Support for relocation will be considered for the right candidate.
