Job Description & Person Specification:

4 days a week; minimum 2 year contract

Based at the Albany, Deptford.

Award winning creative arts company Heart n Soul aims to transform the lives of people with learning disabilities.

Through our arts activities, we support people with learning disabilities to discover their creativity and grow self-confidence, ambition and independence. Having celebrated our 30th anniversary last year, we are delighted to have just been awarded a very significant grant for a two year research project with the Wellcome Trust.

Our Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Mark Williams, will be splitting his time equally between Heart n Soul and the project in central London. We need an Associate Director to work closely with Mark and ensure that Heart n Soul has effective oversight during this period and maintains its’ outstanding performance. There is a separate Associate Director role based at the research project, which is filled.

Taking on this vital senior management role you will enable us to do things right – from implementing our four year strategy to fundraising management, communications, management of the finances and staff development. We expect you to think outside the box whilst working in a co-creative way with different teams.

So you will have sound, all round senior management experience in a dynamic and flexible environment and a track record of promoting and enabling a rewarding and supporting work environment in which diverse people are enabled to do and feel well.

You will be a strong team player and an enabler who gains satisfaction from others doing well. Strong analytical skills, a strategic thinker and good hands on IT skills will complete the picture.

For more information on the role, download the pack from our website:

To apply please send your CV, salary expectations and cover letter stating how you meet our requirements to Sarah Robson, HR Advisor.

Closing date: midday 20 June 2018

Interviews: late June /early July
