Job Description & Person Specification:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Learning and Community Outreach Officer.

Following completion of a HLF funded project to deliver new visitor welcome, interpretation and education facilities in Stowe House, we are looking to build on our education and outreach programme by developing and delivering inspiring, imaginative and engaging learning programmes for people of all ages.

Taking overall responsibility for these activities, you will work closely with the local community and a wide range of groups to bring Stowe House to the attention of a wider audience and encourage new visitors to the house.

We are looking for a proactive, innovative and a creative person who would enjoy the challenge of leading on learning and community engagement at Stowe House.

You will also need to be comfortable overseeing the volunteer team and acting as duty manager when required. If you have a passion for working with people, a love of bringing history to life for visitors and a positive attitude then we would love to hear from you.

About you:

Experience of developing and delivering learning programmes in an heritage or arts venue

Excellent presentation skills, with an ability to plan and facilitate session and learning activities for all ages

Experience of writing education resources for different key stages and audiences

Experience of developing programmes of talks, activities and workshops around relevant themes or exhibitions

Excellent team working, communication and organisational skills

A proactive approach to community engagement

A passion for working with people and a positive, can do attitude

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of Stowe House’s 300 year history and help us to bring our fascinating stories to life for all our visitors. In this role you will be required to cover duty management shifts, as part of a rota with other team members.

This role will involve some weekend, evening and Bank Holiday working.

A full DBS check will be required. For Further details or to apply please see our website
