Job Description & Person Specification:

Music therapists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest in our project: 'Music Therapy for Hospitalised Children in York and Newcastle'.

This is a partnership project between York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Great North Childrenís Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, and Jessieís Fund. It is envisaged that the project will comprise 7.5 hours work in York and 15 hours in Newcastle per week.

The therapy could be delivered by one music therapist working in both cities, or by a different therapist at each hospital, in which case the two therapists would be required to collaborate and follow agreed models of work.

In addition to the clinical work with children, the therapist(s) will be expected to offer training in simple music-making to Health Play Specialists. The service at both hospitals will be regarded as a single project and will be externally evaluated.

The aim is for the project to start in April 2018, with a duration of 46 weeks in total over a period of 52 weeks, within which it is anticipated that there will be up to six weeks of breaks in service.

The full brief can be downloaded here.

Expressions of interest should be emailed to Lesley Schatzberger, Director of Jessieís Fund, at lesley@jessiesfund.org.uk no later than 23rd February 2018.

Presentations will be invited in the second half of March 2018.
