Job Description & Person Specification:

Symphonova Orchestra is opening a freelance sales role for a fixed period of nine months.

We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven sales Professional experienced in booking orchestral recordings for media and in the context of concert repertoire for independent labels, composers and soloists.

Symphonova Orchestra is unlike any other orchestra. Twelve musicians supported by cutting-edge digital technologies and led by internationally acclaimed conductor and inventor Shelley Katz create the richness and power of a full symphonic experience.

Supported by a small and passionate management team, Symphonova consists of multiple proprietary inventions related to sound quality and gestural control to create the marvel of the orchestral experience, including Symphonova Virtual Acoustic System™ (SVAS™), creating the best concert hall acoustics even in the least likely venues, and a newly-invented conducting wand to seamlessly control speed, dynamics and playing style of the virtual instruments.

Symphonova Orchestra and its transformational technologies open new horizons in making orchestral recordings. Recording soloists and composers writing for media and in the context of concert repertoire are now able to create the full symphonic experience with no compromise in musical quality or authenticity of sound, and in a most cost-effective way.

The Symphonova Project was in residence at the University of Surrey until 2014, generously supported by grants from the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and by private and commercial sponsorship.

With the founding of Symphonova Ltd. Symphonova moved from laboratory to limelight and has been performing in the UK to audience amazement and acclaim.

For more details:

The nine-month contract is for a fixed period starting in October 2017. Depending on performance, a long-term engagement may be envisaged.

You will be responsible for the planning and implementation of marketing and sales strategies that will promote Symphonova portfolio of recording services in Europe and beyond.

Building on Symphonova’s unique and innovative features, you will help develop Symphonova’s branding, build effective relationships with relevant partners in the recording industry, and drive the growth and diversification of Symphonova recording services.

Working closely with the Symphonova Managing Director, you will help shape Symphonova’s marketing for the recording sector, and in support of the sales-plan. All applicants must be skilled communicators, able to work independently and have relevant experience.

The work can be undertaken from any location, but the successful applicant will be expected to spend a minimum of two days’ work per week on the job, of which at least one day per fortnight at an office in north London.

Our ideal candidate will meet the following core criteria:

Excellent communicator

Experienced in working in the recording industry, and specifically in the context of recording library music, film and video-game sound-tracks, and with independent labels and other relevant partners.

Well-organised and able to work independently

Full details and information on how to apply available here.

Closing date: 1 September 2017.

Interviews: will be held in London on w/c 11 September 2017.
