Job Description & Person Specification:

The Nest Collective invites audiences to discover exceptional music in unexpected places, rekindling connections with tradition, nature, and community.

We are a nationally leading curator and promoter of folk, world and roots music, founded in 2005 by Mercury-nominated folk singer Sam Lee. We have a busy programme, with a diverse range of events and projects running simultaneously throughout the year.

Our lead projects include:

Campfire Club - weekly unamplified concerts through the Summer in lovely green spaces in London and this year in Bristol, Sheffield and Machynlleth

Unamplifire - twice-yearly daylong festivals in beautiful, multi-roomed locations

Singing With Nightingales - Sam Lee's exquisite night-time woodland events featuring avian- musician duets, also toured around theatres with a live stream of birdsong

Fire Choir - our community protest choir singing songs of resistance

Ceilidh Liberation Front - a contemporary take on the Scottish dance tradition, featuring an annual Burns Night ceilidh

Amplify - our new talent development programme

Pilgrimages - walking with nature and song with Sam Lee

In addition, we promote outstanding emerging and established folk, world and roots artists through concerts throughout the year.

We are looking for a new Executive Director to join the team, taking over from Rachel Millward who is moving on after 2.5 years.

This is an opportunity to lead a small, dynamic organisation, with music and nature at its heart, at a moment which brings huge potential and opportunity for growth. The role holds a lot of responsibility, and the chosen individual will undoubtedly have a major impact on the next phase of development. Thus we seek someone with entrepreneurial dexterity, exceptional skills, solid experience, commitment and passion for our mission.

The Executive Director leads on strategic planning (working closely with Sam Lee), fundraising, income generation & commercial opportunity, financial planning and operations. It is their job to keep this small team efficient and resilient, whilst energetically driving and carefully managing the growth ahead.
